01 · AI infrastructure
Software and infrastructure must be designed together.
On most AI projects the infrastructure is decided last, once the application is already built. By that point the architecture has made the decision by default, and the options that remain are the expensive ones.
02 · The technology chain
Prodigy covers three essential levels of the AI economy
The application defines the task. The task defines the model. The model defines the compute.
01
Energy
The energy capacity that powers digital infrastructure.
02
AI compute infrastructure
GPUs, servers, storage, networking and data centres.
Prodigy experience03
Foundation models
Language, reasoning, voice, vision and specialised models.
Prodigy experience04
AI applications and systems
Products that connect models to real data, processes and objectives.
Prodigy experienceWe connect models, infrastructure and applications into complete AI systems built for real-world operation.
03 · Design from both ends
The application defines the task.
The task defines the infrastructure.
01
GPU & clusters
Sizing for inference, training and multimodal workloads.
02
Network & storage
High-speed architectures for clusters and large data volumes.
03
AI data centres
Compute density, cooling, energy consumption and scaling.
04
Private infrastructure
Local operation, data control and operational independence.
05
Efficiency & cost
Utilisation, performance, latency and processing cost.
06
Hybrid architectures
Integration of local, private and cloud infrastructure.
04 · Why it matters
Sovereignty is an architecture decision.
For governments, defence-adjacent organisations and regulated enterprises, the question is rarely which model performs best in a benchmark. It is where the data may live, who can see it, what can be audited and what happens when the network is unavailable.
Answering that requires the application and the infrastructure to be designed as one system. A retrieval architecture that assumes unlimited cloud bandwidth fails on a private cluster. A GPU estate sized for training is wasted on an inference-dominated workload.
Prodigy's on-premise and infrastructure experience means the deployment model is decided with the solution - not discovered after it.
Where data cannot leave the organisation, the system is deployed inside that boundary and runs against the data in place, rather than moving the data to reach the system.
A
Data control
Approved sources stay inside the organisation's boundary, with role-based access and full traceability.
B
Operational independence
Local operation continues when external connectivity does not.
C
Predictable cost
Utilisation, latency and processing cost modelled before commitment, not after the first invoice.
D
Room to scale
Hybrid architectures that let workloads move between local, private and cloud as demand changes.
